The Ruddings is a family run hotel in the village of Braithwaite, a few miles west of Keswick, with views across to Skiddaw. Its restaurant and bar are open to non residents as well as hotel guests, serving lunches and evening meals.
Menus are seasonal and homemade, using locally sourced ingredients, with vegan and children’s options and dietary needs catered for. The Sunday roast is popular, so booking is a good idea. In fine weather the outdoor terrace is a lovely spot for lunch, and dogs are allowed in the bar area at mealtimes.
