Derwent Water Round

The Derwentwater Walk is a waymarked route of about 10 miles that takes you all the way around the lake. It begins at the Keswick Launch on the lakeshore and follows mostly flat, easy paths through old woodland and along the water’s edge, with cafés and picnic spots on the way.

Allow a full day if you want to take it slowly. If you would rather do part of it, the Keswick Launch calls at landing stages around the lake, so you can walk one stretch and ride the boat back. It is a good choice for families and for days when the high fells are in cloud.
