Walla Crag

3 miles from Low Briery · nearest town Keswick

Walla Crag is a small fell of 379 metres on the east side of Derwentwater, and it gives one of the best views for the effort in the area. From the top you look straight down the lake and across to Skiddaw, Blencathra and the Newlands fells.

You can walk there from Keswick town centre, or start from the National Trust car park at Great Wood for a shorter climb. Some sections are steep, but the paths are well used and suit most reasonably fit walkers. A popular circuit drops down to Ashness Bridge and returns along the lakeshore, making a walk of around 6 miles.
