The Lakesman is a long distance triathlon based in Keswick, normally held in mid to late June. Full distance athletes swim 2.4 miles in Derwentwater, cycle 112 miles through the quieter western side of the Lakes, then run a marathon. A half distance race, relays and split options are also available.
It is a good day to spectate too: the run route has views of Skiddaw and the finish at Keswick Rugby Club has a great atmosphere. Check the organiser’s website for this year’s dates.
