Climb the Mine is a guided underground adventure inside Honister Slate Mine, at the top of Honister Pass beyond Borrowdale. Over roughly two and a half hours you’ll climb cavern walls and steel ladders, cross rope bridges, try a Tarzan swing and finish on a zip line.
Because it all happens inside the mountain, it runs in any weather. Harness, helmet and head torch are provided, but you’ll need sturdy footwear and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Participants must be at least 8 years old and 1.3 metres tall, and under 16s need a participating adult. Booking ahead is recommended.
